Grid Translator Pro 1.1 for ArcGIS®: Version 1.1 is released on March 06, 2006. See what's new in this release.

Grid Translator Pro (GTP) for ArcGIS® is an add-on application for ArcGIS® and one stop solution for ArcGIS® users to enable a wide range of raster and imaging formats within the ArcGIS® suite products. ArcGIS® is a family of products developed by ESRI Inc. including desktop and server products.

To work properly, GTP for ArcGIS® requires one of the following versions of ArcGIS®: 8.2, 8.3, 9.0 or higher .

A 4 days fully functioning version of Grid Translator Pro for ArcGIS® can be downloaded at: Try it!

To purchase Grid Translator Pro for ArcGIS® you can now do it online: Purchase it!

GTP for ArcGIS® opens all the functionalities of ArcGIS® to more than 38 raster formats including the formats of the major GIS industry products: Idrisi, Surfer, PCI, Erdas, Vertical Mapper, Geosoft and MapInfo. With GTP for ArcGIS®, the user can import seamlessly a GIF image, a SRTM dataset, a SPOT image or a Surfer grid within the same process and the same tool.

GTP for ArcGIS® is built with ArcGIS® users in mind to allow them leverage their investment on ArcGIS® products and take advantage of the increasingly available and free data over the Internet. Examples of such data are: SRTM data (world wide), GTOPO30 (world wide) and SDTS (USA).

Using an original design GTP for ArcGIS® creates ArcGIS® grids using an automated and generic process. The import process is batch oriented allowing users to create ArcGIS® grids from multiple datasets and from a wide range of data formats using a single and unified user interface.

Whether you have a raster dataset produced by Surfer, Idrisi, PCI, Vertical Mapper, Geosoft or ENVI, a satellite image (SPOT, Radar, NOAA, NITF), a nautical chart (BSB), a bitmap image (GIF, Bitmap, Jpeg, PixMap), or a DEM (SRTM, SDTS, USGS DEM, GTOPO30, DTED); GTP for ArcGIS® will bring these data to ArcGIS® image format with few clicks.

What's new in GTP 1.1 for ArcGIS®:

• New formats support: Erdas .lan and .gis raster files.

• Enhanced support for multi-bands datasets: When an input dataset has more than one band, it used to be converted to a multi-bands grid. This functionnality was changed to create instead an ERDAS Image file (.img) for better multi-band handling.

• Control points: Use control points if existent within the input dataset to create automatically the georeference information needed for the output grid.

• Projections: More projection definitions are added.

• User Interface: Made the user interface dialog resizable to allow the user more control on the user interface display when translating a wide range of grids.

• Fixed different bugs including the failure of translating large grids in some specific cases.
